FELLOWSHIP NEWS AND CONCERNS

Leigh 10k race – an improvement on last year’s Kerfuffle! Car drivers had a better time getting to church on Aug 12th with a lot less stress this year. Thanks to John for liaising with the Organisers and Stewards and well done all the runners (including Julia Galloway!)

Happy News – how nice to share happy news for a change. We wish Diane and Rob Allen every joys and blessing for their Ruby Wedding Celebrations on Sept 9th.

.PRAYER

Prayer is the simplest form of speech that infant lips can try ;  Prayer , the sublimest  strains that reach the Majesty on high

Prayer is the contrite sinner’s voice, returning from his ways, while Angels in their songs rejoice and cry “Behold He Prays!”

Prayer is the Christian’s vital breath, the Christian’s native air. His watchword at the gates of death; He enters heaven with prayer

Nor Prayer is made on earth alone; the Holy Spirit pleads, and Jesus at the Father’s throne  for sinners intercedes.                    James Montgomery 1771 -1854
