New to Church

We'd like you to feel welcome at Leigh Baptist Church (LBC). Whoever you are, whatever you've done or whatever you're like, we offer you a warm welcome. We're just glad you've decided to join with us...

As you will see by looking at our calendar section of the website, we have some mid-week activities which might be of interest to you. Of course, you would always be welcome to join us for Sunday worship.

To make you feel at home on Sundays, here's a brief guide to the way we do things at LBC.

Our morning service normally starts at 10.45 am and lasts about an hour. Our lunchtime service is once per month at 12.30pm on the third Sunday of the month. During the morning service usually all the song words are projected onto a screen, and if there are any spoken words to participate with, these will go up there too. We also have hymn books that are given out on arrival and you can choose to use these if you prefer. All of the songs are mainly taken from Complete Mission Praise and sometimes from the Baptist Praise Hymn Book. The service is usually led by Pastoral Leader Mrs Val Hulme  or sometimes a visiting Minister. Occasionally we will have a special service such as a baby dedication service or a believer's baptism service (we have a baptistry at the front of the church, which is bigger than a bath but smaller than a swimming pool!). At our lunch service we are served with a hot meal, we listen to a speaker and sing well known hymns.

If you've got kids they're more than welcome to join with our small Sunday school (with DBS checked volunteers). Part-way through our 10.45am service, children and young people usually leave for their Sunday school (just follow them through to the back room); or keep them with you in the service if you prefer - it's entirely up to you! We absolutely don't mind noise (kids are kids after all).

Our church is wheelchair accessible and we have an induction loop fitted for those hard of hearing. We have both male and female toilet facilities.

We share tea and coffee together after our morning service in the school room at approximately This is a great way for you to get to know people who worship with us.

We don't have any dedicated parking spaces at the church so if you're coming by car please use the public car park opposite (which is free on Sunday) or side-street parking in local roads around the church. Best approached by driving down Church St.

We look forward to meeting you on a Sunday or at one of our mid-week activities.
